This is your January reset. Not a new year, new you. Instead, it’s an opportunity to recalibrate and reflect. To reassess and re-empower. To reevaluate and reignite. To RESET, REALIGN, and RECOMMIT to yourself and whole body wellness — mind, body, spirit — from an evidence based, informed, and holistic perspective.
This is about intentional action, not resolution. This is about whole body knowledge and nourishment, not restriction and rigidity. This is about building essential and foundational practices for sustainable health, longevity, and well being — mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Naturopathic Medicine & Clinical Nutrition
A whole body, patient-centred approach to medicine and wellness, focusing on individualized treatment and care. An opportunity to explore the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of your health, assessing all of the physiological and biochemical systems that contribute to your story and health status. The most effective evidence-based medicine will guide your individual treatment plan that shifts us toward your goals, with a strong alignment to adapting diet, lifestyle, and behaviour — plus relevant supplements and herbs. Clinical nutrition is a pillar of all treatment, which sets the foundation for the most sustainable, long-term outcomes.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the stimulation and regulation of Qi energy and blood flow throughout the body. At La Cura, we weave together the science of Eastern and Western medicine to engage the body in healing. Traditional acupuncture treats the whole body as a constitution and targets more chronic conditions. Rehab acupuncture takes a more focused approach, and is designed to treat acute injury or discomfort, which may involve trigger point release therapy (eg. dry needling).
Breathwork
Breathwork — and specifically Elemental Rhythm Breathwork — is a practice of deep rhythmic breathing that provides the opportunity to initiate our innate healing responses. Breathwork allows you to tap into the deeper layers of the subconscious and psyche, and access an altered state of consciousness. Breathwork has been shown to improve energy, stabilize mood, ease anxiety and depression, control addiction, decrease pain, manage stress, and improve overall wellbeing. We create a safe space for you to learn how to utilize your own powerful breath for short and long-term healing. Breathwork sessions can be done one-on-one, or in small or large groups, whether it be part of a more comprehensive wellness treatment plan or it’s own healing modality.
Yoga
Acceptance of where your body is physically, mentally, and emotionally in space is the hallmark of yoga practice. A spiritual discipline focused on uniting the mind and body, expressed through physical postures and moving meditation. Our approach to yoga is less about what a posture looks like, and more about what it feels like — focusing on sensation over aesthetics. Bodies arrive in all shapes, sizes, and abilities, so forgoing the traditional discipline for a more fluid expression of the practice is not only more sustainable, but therapeutic. Yoga sessions can be done one-on-one, or in small or large groups.
